Wild cabbage Kalibro F1

Czech breeding for your field

In the white cabbage market, mid-season hybrids occupy the "golden mean," providing a balance between productivity and versatility. Calibro F1 by the Czech company Moravoseed is the result of years of European plant breeding aimed at creating a resilient plant capable of delivering stable results in both home gardens and professional farms.

Agronomic parameters

Calibro F1 belongs to the mid-season category with a vegetation period of 80 to 90 days after transplanting. This allows farmers to plan the harvest for the mid-season peak when demand for fresh produce is at its highest.

• Weight and shape: The heads are round, uniform, and feature an attractive grey-green color. The average weight of a head is 2.0–3.0 kg, which is considered an industry standard for retail and culinary purposes.
• Usage: The hybrid's main strength is its versatility. The density and internal structure of the head make it suitable for both the fresh market and industrial processing, particularly for pickling and fermentation.
• Storage: This variety is intended for medium-term storage (1–2 months), perfect for bridging the gap during the post-harvest period.

Cultivation recommendations

To realize the full potential of this variety, Moravoseed experts recommend a plant density of 40,000–50,000 plants per hectare. Maintaining this spacing helps ensure the heads reach the desired marketable size and prevents overcrowding, which can negatively impact airflow and plant health.

Moravoseed's Czech breeding is traditionally known for its adaptability to various soil types, and Calibro F1 is no exception. It is a reliable choice for growers who need a predictable yield with high market quality without requiring overly complex agronomic interventions.
