TOS 218 MV

Corn Toss 218 MV is a new super-sweet hybrid of type SH2, developed by Syngenta (Netherlands). This hybrid is characterized by high adaptability to extreme and stressful growing conditions, including drought and water deficit, allowing successful cultivation without additional irrigation. The vegetative period is approximately 81 days, and thermal units are 920 (base 10 °C). Plants reach a height of 230 cm, with large ears approximately 22-23 cm long and 5.7 cm in diameter, featuring 20-22 rows of bright yellow kernels with kernel depth of 12-13 mm. Dark green husks effectively cover the ears, prolonging harvest time. Hybrid Toss 218 MV is distinguished by high yield and grain quality, making it versatile for various uses: fresh market, freezing processing, and canning. Due to its large ears and high kernel output, this variety is popular among farmers. Additionally, the corn exhibits high resistance to rust and moderate resistance to southern helminthosporium, reducing pesticide use and promoting a healthier harvest. A distinctive feature of this hybrid is its ability to withstand temperature fluctuations, including early-season temperature drops, as well as rapid initial growth and accelerated vegetation. This enables successful cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including steppe, forest-steppe, and Polissia. High water release and morphological ear characteristics ensure stable and high yields, making Toss 218 MV a profitable choice for farmers aiming for efficient and sustainable corn production.
