Maize RVL 178 C

Universal potential of the RVL 178 C hybrid

The French hybrid Limagrain RVL 178 C is a balanced solution for farms that prioritize both high-yielding grain production and high-quality silage harvesting. As a mid-maturing hybrid, it demonstrates excellent plasticity across different climatic zones, ensuring stable results even under moderate stress conditions.

Agronomic features and crop protection

A key advantage of this hybrid is its genetic resistance to a complex of common pathogens. Working with RVL 178 C allows for reduced fungicide application, as the plant possesses natural immunity against:

• Helminthosporiosis;
• Fusarium;
• Stalk smut;
• Common smut.

The dent-type grain, combined with a high starch content (72%), makes this hybrid an excellent choice for intensive livestock farming. High starch concentration ensures superior energy value for silage, while grain harvesting provides a high yield per hectare of high-quality commodity.

Practical application in the field

Agronomists choose RVL 178 C for its predictability and reliability. The hybrid fits perfectly into crop rotations requiring a "middle ground" in maturity. It is highly recommended for farms aiming to maximize the return on every hectare, ranging from highly efficient grain production to creating a nutritious forage base for cattle. Consistent development in the early stages and high resistance to stalk diseases minimize harvest losses, ensuring both crop purity and high grain quality.
