R7404 — an early-maturing corn hybrid developed by Pioneer®, characterized by high yield and adaptability. This hybrid has a dent corn type and is intended for grain, silage, and ethanol production. Plants exhibit balanced growth with optimal ear development, promoting stable yield formation. Due to high tolerance to stalk and root lodging, the hybrid is resistant to adverse weather conditions and mechanical damage, ensuring reliable and stable yields.
Hybrid R7404 is included in the State Register in several regions of Russia, including Far Eastern, Central, and Volga regions, where it demonstrates high yield performance. The vegetation period ranges from 96 to 112 days depending on the region, allowing the hybrid to be grown under various climatic conditions. Average grain yield in the Central region reaches 74.8 c/ha, in the Volga region — 76.2 c/ha, and in the Far Eastern region — 76.8 c/ha. When grown for silage, yield is also high, averaging 181.1 c/ha in the Central region and 122.8 c/ha in the Volga region.
Plants of the hybrid have medium height with strong anthocyanic coloration of the first leaf sheath and silk, which is a sign of good physiological activity. The ear shape is dent, with medium length and diameter, facilitating harvesting and processing. High kernel density and optimal leaf arrangement promote effective photosynthesis and plant development. Thanks to its excellent early growth and stability, hybrid R7404 is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality corn yields in various agroclimatic zones.
