ES Palazzo is a hybrid maize produced by the company Lidea, belonging to the mid-early maturity group with a FAO number of 220. Plants reach a height of about 282 cm, and ears are positioned at a height of 120 cm. The cob has a conical-cylindrical shape, 22-25 cm long and 5-5.5 cm in diameter, containing 14-16 rows of kernels, each with 28-29 kernels. The kernels are dent type, with a warm yellow color, and exhibit high weight — 1000 kernels weigh 333 g, indicating high quality and strong initial growth energy.
The hybrid is characterized by high yield, reaching 93.4 to 119.9 centners per hectare in various regions, with a potential yield of up to 135 centners per hectare. ES Palazzo has a strong root system and excellent disease resistance, including fusarium stalk and ear rot, helminthosporium, as well as lodging resistance. Additionally, the hybrid demonstrates high resistance to stress conditions such as drought, cold, and water deficiency, ensuring stability and productivity in various climatic zones, including the forest-steppe, steppe, and lowland areas.
The recommended planting density varies depending on moisture conditions: 70,000-75,000 plants per hectare in areas with insufficient moisture and 85,000-95,000 plants per hectare in areas with adequate moisture. ES Palazzo has quick water release, facilitating harvesting and allowing the grain to be used for both silage and grain processing. High stem leafiness promotes effective photosynthesis and plant development, making this hybrid an attractive choice for farmers seeking high and stable yields.
