New onion hybrid for long-term storage. Matures on day 115-125 after emergence of seedlings. Bulbs are uniform in size, ideally round, 50-70 mm in diameter under optimal planting density. In sparse plantings, bulbs may reach 80-100 mm. Outer scales have intense dark coloration with characteristic glossy sheen. Pandero F1 has a slender neck, allowing much faster drying of the bulbs. This advantage is especially relevant for regions with hot weather during harvest, since prolonged field retention of mature onions can lead to sunburn. The hybrid has high resistance to pink rot and fusarium.
