Oviedo F1 early Dutch hybrid cabbage, developed by Bejo Zaden, suitable for cultivation in open ground and under coverings such as tunnels, greenhouses, and polytunnels. This variety features a vigorous plant with a strong leafy rosette, characterized by gray-green leaves with a distinct waxy coating, wavy margins, and slight puckering. The maturity period is approximately 65-70 days, making it suitable for a second crop during spring-summer. The plant is resistant to temperature fluctuations and stress conditions such as water deficiency and high temperatures, ensuring a stable yield even under challenging climatic conditions. Oviedo F1 cabbage heads are round or slightly flattened, with dense, bumpy texture and a tender, whitish color. Head weight varies from 0.8 to 1.5 kg, making them convenient for fresh market sale. The product exhibits high marketability, good transportability, and an attractive appearance. Thanks to these qualities, the hybrid is suitable not only for fresh consumption but also for processing, pickling, and canning. The Oviedo F1 variety is resistant to major diseases such as fusarium and bacterial diseases, reducing the risk of crop loss and simplifying cultivation practices. The plant forms a dense leaf rosette with upright or slightly raised positioning, promoting good ventilation and reducing disease risk. The hybrid is recommended for spring-summer cultivation with a planting density of 35-45 thousand plants per hectare, ensuring optimal land use and high productivity.
