Wild cabbage Oriental Surprise F1

Consistent yields of Chinese cabbage with Japanese genetics

«Orient Surprise F1» from the Japanese breeding company Takii Seeds is the choice for professionals who value predictable results in a changing climate. Unlike many hybrids sensitive to temperature fluctuations, this variety demonstrates remarkable plasticity and resilience to environmental stressors.

Protection against key threats

The main headache for growers of Chinese cabbage is diseases capable of destroying crops in a matter of weeks. Takii Seeds' work on the genetic base of «Orient Surprise F1» focuses on building robust immunity. The hybrid possesses complex resistance to:

• Downy mildew (Peronospora), which is critical for high-humidity regions.
• Fusarium wilt, one of the most dangerous pathologies leading to root system collapse.

These characteristics allow for reduced fungicide usage, which not only saves costs but also results in more sustainable produce attractive to premium quality markets.

Strengths and weaknesses

Advantages: High marketability of heads and their dense structure, which withstands transport perfectly. Genetic resistance to Fusarium minimizes the risk of crop loss even on tired soil. It is ideal for supermarket chains due to its professional, clean appearance.

Things to consider: Like any intensive crop, «Orient Surprise F1» requires a well-managed nutrition and irrigation schedule. This is not a "lazy" variety; to achieve maximum head weight, providing an optimal agronomic background is essential.

Who is this hybrid for?

This variety is optimal for farms targeting the fresh market and retail supply chains. If you are looking for a balance between plant durability and produce quality, Takii Seeds has provided a solution that relieves a significant portion of an agronomist's workload during the mid-vegetation cycle.
