Wild cabbage Erma RZ F1

Consistent Yields with Early Maturity

When working with the early white cabbage variety "Erma RZ F1" from Rijk Zwaan, the first thing you notice is the predictability. When heading into the field with transplants, you need a crop that develops uniformly, and this hybrid delivers exactly that. Reaching maturity in 50–60 days allows you to meet market demand for the first fresh produce of the season, which is critical for farm profitability.

Agrotechnics and Planting Density

This variety requires a disciplined approach to plant population. The recommended density of 50,000–60,000 plants per hectare is the "sweet spot" that prevents heads from becoming over-sized or undersized.

Visual Appeal and Marketability

The grey-green leaf color looks fresh and attractive on retail displays, which definitely simplifies the sales process. The heads are dense and stand up well to transport, significantly reducing waste during transit from the field to the supermarket shelf. This is essential for those supplying retail chains directly: the produce remains firm and retains its quality well after harvest.

• Quick start: The short growing cycle allows for efficient turnover.
• Marketability: Round 1–2 kg heads are exactly what consumers are looking for.
• Reliability: Rijk Zwaan's Dutch genetics minimize crop loss risks when standard agronomic practices are followed.

Working with "Erma RZ F1" is straightforward. The hybrid is forgiving of minor maintenance lapses, but with proper irrigation and balanced fertilization, it showcases its full genetic potential. It’s a clear example of professional plant breeding translating directly into profit.
