Gross grain harvest in Vinnytsia region exceeds 3 million tons

The gross grain harvest in the Vinnytsia region has officially surpassed the 3 million ton mark. According to the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, local farmers have harvested 3.1 million tons of grain, achieving a solid average yield of 6.22 tons per hectare. To date, grain and leguminous crops in the region have been threshed across 62% of the projected areas.

Specifically, corn for grain has been harvested on nearly 77,000 hectares, showing an average yield of 8.06 t/ha and making a substantial contribution to the regional harvest. At the same time, agricultural producers are completing the harvesting campaign for other industrial crops and actively procuring raw materials for processing facilities.

Soybeans in the region have been harvested on 97% of the planned area with an average yield of 2.65 t/ha, while sunflower harvesting covers 91% of the area with a yield of 3.1 t/ha. Furthermore, sugar beets have been dug up on 15,000 hectares, yielding approximately 750,000 tons of roots with an impressive productivity rate of 49.55 t/ha.

All five sugar plants in the region are currently fully operational. They have accepted 500,000 tons of sugar beets for processing, having already processed 423,000 tons of raw material and produced 62,000 tons of sugar. This steady processing pace ensures a stable supply of refined sugar from the new crop season.

Alongside harvesting activities, farmers in the Vinnytsia region are laying a strong foundation for next year's harvest. Winter rapeseed has been sown on 125,000 hectares, while winter grain crops already cover 236,000 hectares. Specifically, winter wheat occupies 216.5 thousand hectares, winter barley accounts for 17.9 thousand hectares, and winter rye covers 1.5 thousand hectares. Farmers are also carrying out necessary agronomic care for winter rapeseed crops in the fields.
