Danone and Arcor have officially announced the successful completion of their joint venture in Argentina. This strategic partnership merges Danone’s local dairy business (Danone Argentina SA), which has operated in the country for thirty years, with Mastellone Hermanos SA, a dairy firm with nearly a century of heritage in the market, alongside their shared logistics subsidiary, Logistica La Serenísima.

Building on a partnership spanning over two decades, this alliance creates an integrated business entity designed to leverage the scale and capabilities of both companies. By combining resources, the joint venture aims to deliver faster innovation, enhanced operational excellence, and broader commercial reach, ultimately benefiting Argentinian consumers across the category.

As part of the agreement, Danone now holds equal control of the joint venture alongside Arcor. As of August 1, 2026, the 50% shareholding has been reflected in Danone's financial statements under the category of 'equity-accounted companies.' This move represents a significant consolidation of Danone’s dairy footprint in the region.

Danone, a global leader in health-focused food and beverage, recorded sales of €27.3 billion in 2025. The company is currently executing its 'Renew' strategy, which focuses on restoring growth and long-term value. With approximately 90,000 employees and a portfolio that includes major brands such as Activia, Alpro, and Nutricia, Danone achieved global B CorpTM certification in 2025.

Arcor Group, meanwhile, stands as a leading multinational with significant influence in consumer food, packaging, and agribusiness. As the largest food company in Argentina and a major regional exporter, Arcor operates 49 manufacturing plants with over 20,000 employees, reporting net sales of $3.4 billion in 2025. Their growth model relies on long-term partnerships, and the collaboration with Danone serves to further strengthen their presence across Latin American and international markets.
