Dipterocarpus is a genus of large tropical trees belonging to the Dipterocarpaceae family. These plants are a vital component of the wet tropical forests throughout Southeast Asia.
Successful cultivation requires a hot and humid tropical climate without any frost occurrences. Optimal temperatures for vegetation range between +24°C and +30°C throughout the year.
