Botanically, the hybrid inherits the cold-resistant traits of its parents, allowing it to withstand temperatures well below freezing, which is critical for extending citrus cultivation into cooler temperate regions.
The cultural requirements demand well-drained, slightly acidic soil with high organic matter content. While the plant is robust, it does not tolerate waterlogged conditions, which can lead to rapid root decay and stunted development.
In terms of climatic adaptation, it thrives in full sun, which is necessary for proper wood hardening before the onset of winter. It is highly recommended for orchards where winter temperatures frequently dip below zero, providing a stable foundation for grafted scions.
