Zucchini Delikates

A productive highlight for your garden

Czech breeding by Semo is renowned for its adaptability, and the "Delikates" hybrid is a perfect example. This pattypan-type squash is the choice for growers who value both aesthetic appeal and practical processing potential. Thanks to its bush growth habit, "Delikates" fits perfectly into intensive planting schemes, saving space and making plant maintenance much easier.

Practical applications in the field

• Whole-fruit preservation: The unique shape makes it a prized ingredient for canning. Small, uniform "Delikates" fruits look far more impressive in jars than standard cylindrical varieties.
• Early market supply: With a growing period of 40–45 days, you can secure the first commercial harvest as quickly as possible—a crucial advantage for farmers targeting early-season local markets.
• Culinary versatility: The light green color and tender texture make it suitable for gourmet recipes where attractive presentation of portion-sized vegetables is essential.

The bush-type plant architecture significantly reduces manual labor; there is no need to manage long vines, and harvesting becomes a quick, effortless operation. In open-field conditions, "Delikates" demonstrates stable fruit set even during temperature fluctuations, a hallmark of Semo’s breeding expertise. The best strategy is to harvest regularly at the technical maturity stage; this triggers the plant to produce new fruits, extending the active harvest window through the entire season.
