Watermelon WALKER

French breeding for professional watermelon farming

The «Valker» watermelon from the French seed house Clause is the result of years of research into high-yielding hybrids adapted to challenging growing environments. In the professional seed market, this hybrid has established itself as a reliable choice for growers focused on delivering premium-quality produce.

Agronomic performance and protection

A key advantage of this hybrid is its genetically inherent resistance to Fusarium wilt. In intensive agricultural operations, where soil pathogen accumulation often becomes a critical constraint, the plant's ability to withstand Fusarium helps minimize yield losses and reduce the need for excessive chemical intervention.

• Type: watermelon hybrid.
• Fruit mass: ranges from 8.0 to 15.0 kg, allowing for flexible sorting for various market channels.
• Flesh color: deep red, maintaining high visual appeal post-harvest.

Market value

«Valker» fills the niche of mid-season to mid-late hybrids that show consistent performance across diverse climatic zones. Thanks to its impressive fruit size and excellent flavor profile, it is highly sought after both in the fresh market and retail chains. The French genetics from Clause ensure not only high yields but also a commercial appearance that remains stable during medium-to-long-distance transport.

For large-scale agricultural enterprises, choosing this hybrid is an effective strategy to balance high product quality requirements with the practical demands of field production.
