Tomato Yamamoto

Maximizing Yields with Yamamoto Genetics

Working with the 'Yamamoto' tomato hybrid from Ikasido Global Group B.V. proves the efficiency of Dutch breeding technology. This indeterminate hybrid is designed for professional greenhouse operators who prioritize high output and reliability. With proper crop management, yields consistently exceed 190 tonnes per hectare, making it a robust commercial choice.

Disease Resistance and Handling

The primary advantage of Yamamoto is its genetic resilience. It is highly resistant to verticillium wilt, tomato mosaic virus, gray leaf spot, and fusarium wilt. This significantly reduces the need for heavy chemical intervention and simplifies daily crop maintenance.

• Maturity: Reaches harvest stage in under 90 days, supporting efficient crop rotations.
• Fruit Quality: Weighing over 200 grams, the yellow, round fruits are uniform and attractive.
• Logistics: The excellent shelf life and density of the fruit make it ideal for long-distance transport, ensuring it reaches the market without damage.

From an operational standpoint, the indeterminate nature of the plant requires disciplined pruning and trellising, but the effort is rewarded with top-tier product quality. These bright yellow tomatoes remain firm even under varying humidity levels, providing a stable premium product for fresh market demand.
