Tomato Magnus F1

Professional Dutch performance for greenhouse growers

When selecting seeds for professional greenhouse operations, predictability is the most valuable asset. Magnus F1 by De Ruiter Seeds is a hybrid that has built its reputation on reliability. Designed for those who prioritize risk mitigation in protected cropping, this hybrid offers a consistent performance that makes it a staple in the industry.

A built-in disease defense system

The primary reason to choose Magnus F1 is its robust resistance profile. This hybrid effectively handles a wide range of common greenhouse pathogens, significantly reducing the reliance on aggressive chemical treatments:

• Fungal resilience: High tolerance to Fusarium and Verticillium wilt ensures the plants remain productive throughout the season.
• Soil health: Genetic resistance to root-knot nematodes saves costs on soil fumigation and management.
• Virus and leaf mold: Built-in defenses against Tomato Mosaic Virus and Cladosporium keep the foliage healthy and functional for extended periods.

Production and fruit quality

As a semi-determinate hybrid, Magnus F1 is perfectly suited for greenhouses with medium-height trellising. With a maturity window of 90–100 days, it produces uniform, globe-shaped fruits weighing 100–150 grams. This size is considered the “market standard,” as it fits perfectly into standard packaging for fresh retail.

Transport and storage benefits

Where Magnus F1 truly excels is in its supply chain resilience. The fruit maintains excellent firmness and quality for 10–20 days post-harvest. This level of shelf-life is essential for growers who need to transport produce over long distances without risking spoilage. While the market sees many new varieties, Magnus F1 remains the go-to solution for farmers who need a proven, reliable, and high-yielding tomato that handles the rigors of commercial logistics with ease.
