Tomato Falcon

Reliable Harvest for Short Growing Seasons

The «Falcon» variety from the Russian Scientific Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding and Seed Production (VNIISSOK) is designed for growers who prioritize timing and logistics. As a determinate tomato with a maturity cycle of up to 90 days, it is a robust solution for regions with limited warm weather.

Why Choose Falcon?

• Marketability: With a fruit weight of 150–200 grams, Falcon hits the "sweet spot" for both retail markets and home canning. The uniform, round shape ensures efficiency during grading and packing.
• Durability: Unlike many early-ripening varieties that are soft and difficult to ship, Falcon is prized for its excellent transportability. The skin is firm enough to survive transit without bruising.
• Manageability: Its determinate growth habit makes it highly predictable. It is easy to manage in smaller fields or gardens, requiring minimal pruning compared to indeterminate varieties.

Cultivation Insights

Falcon performs best when given consistent water and potassium-rich fertilization as the fruit sets. Because it is a determinate variety, the energy is directed into simultaneous fruit development, leading to a concentrated harvest. While the plant is sturdy, growers should use supports or stakes, as the heavy clusters of 200-gram tomatoes can weigh down the branches. The variety's main strength is its resilience to early-season temperature drops, making it a reliable performer in fluctuating climates.

This variety is optimal for farmers targeting the early produce market and gardeners looking for a high-quality, red tomato crop that finishes before late-summer weather turns unfavorable.
