Crane — mid-early variety: from germination to maturity 110-115 days. Plants are determinate type, 80-100 cm tall. Leaves are medium-sized, with large lobes, green. First flower cluster forms above the 7th-8th leaf. Subsequent flower clusters are spaced 1-2 leaves apart, sometimes directly adjacent. Inflorescence is simple, short, with 4-6 fruits. Fruits are 2-4-chambered, smooth and slightly ribbed, weighing 90-120 g, round-oval, sometimes round, light green without a spot at the point of attachment of the pedicel, dense, turning red at maturity, suitable for whole-fruit canning. Intended for cultivation in plastic greenhouses and covers; in southern regions — in open ground. Planting density 3.5 plants/m2. In greenhouses, plants are trained into a single stem with apical meristem transferred to lateral branches. In open ground, plants are grown without pinching until the main stem’s natural growth limit is reached. After transplanting seedlings, periodic foliar feedings with 0.5% MgSO4 solution are conducted.
ADVANTAGES OF THE VARIETY: uniform early and total yield, resistance to tobacco mosaic virus. Recommended for farm operations and amateur vegetable growing.
