BLACKBERRY SWEET

Tomato 'Blackberry Sweet' is an early-maturing indeterminate hybrid, suitable for cultivation in open ground, under plastic coverings, and in greenhouses. The plant is tall, characterized by high fruit set and uniform fruiting. Sowing for seedlings is recommended in March, with transplanting of seedlings at the stage of first true leaves. Seedlings are transplanted into open ground at about 50 days old, and into greenhouses in April, with planting spacing of 70x40 cm. For successful cultivation, it requires infrequent but abundant root watering, regular feeding, soil loosening, and preventive treatment against phytophthora. The fruits are round, smooth, bright blackberry-colored, weighing from 130 to 150 grams. They have a meaty texture, sweet taste, and a juicy, simultaneously strong and tender skin, ensuring excellent transportability and resistance to cracking. The ripening period is approximately 90-92 days after emergence. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to a range of diseases, including fusarium wilt and tobacco mosaic virus, significantly simplifying care and increasing crop reliability. The 'Blackberry Sweet' variety is valued for its excellent taste and stable yield, reaching 4-5 kg per plant. Due to uniform fruit ripening and even sizing, tomatoes are suitable for fresh consumption and well-tolerate transportation and storage. Preventive treatments and, if necessary, the use of plant protection products are recommended to prevent diseases and pests, contributing to plant health and crop quality.
