Tomato Albarosso F1

Working with Albarosso F1

When dealing with determinate tomatoes, the main goal is to achieve stable results with minimal maintenance. The German breeding of Agri-Saaten, represented by «Albarosso F1», effectively addresses this for growers targeting both home canning and the fresh market, where uniform fruit sizing is a key requirement.

Operational performance

The first thing an agronomist notices with this hybrid is its predictability. With a maturity period of up to 90 days, it is easy to schedule the harvest. This is particularly important for those managing labor-intensive operations: you don’t need to patrol the fields every single day because the fruit ripens simultaneously. The compact, determinate plant does not require complex trellising, which significantly reduces labor costs for staking and pruning.

Stress resistance

The most frustrating issue in tomato production is fungal disease, which can ruin a crop in just a few days. The resistance to Verticillium and Fusarium wilt in this hybrid is not just a marketing claim. In real-world field conditions, «Albarosso F1» demonstrates excellent survivability where other hybrids would demand constant fungicide applications. This allows for a reduction in chemical usage and yields a more reliable, high-quality product.

Harvest profile

The 60-80 gram fruit weight is essentially the 'canning standard'. These round, bright red tomatoes fit perfectly into storage containers. They are firm and resistant to cracking during transport, which is critical when moving produce to the market. The harvest process is efficient, as all fruits maintain a highly consistent size throughout the plant.
