Cefey is a sunflower hybrid registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2006. It is characterized by early maturity, high yield, and resistance to major phytopathogens, including false powdery mildew, downy mildew, and tolerance to Phomopsis, gray and white rot. Plants are medium-height, 150–160 cm tall, with uniform height and synchronized flowering, ensuring high hybrid technological efficiency. The sunflower head is flat, medium-thick, and slightly convex, with 100% seed set to the center. Potential productivity reaches 4.8 t/ha, oil content of seeds is 50–51%, and 1000-seed mass is 55–58 g. The Cefey hybrid exhibits high drought tolerance, making it suitable for cultivation under various climatic conditions. Due to its characteristics, it ensures stable and high-quality yield, which is crucial for efficient oil production. High resistance to diseases and pests reduces the need for frequent application of chemical protective agents, positively impacting ecological cultivation. To protect corn crops from weeds that may compete with sunflowers for resources, it is recommended to use systemic post-emergence herbicides based on rimsulfuron and dicamba. These agents effectively control annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds, including ragweed, docks, and sunflower. Herbicides are rapidly absorbed by plants and stop weed development, contributing to yield and quality maintenance. It is important to follow dosage norms and application recommendations to achieve maximum effect and crop safety.
