EREBUS

EREBUS is a medium-maturing spring rape (Brassica napus var. napus) 00 type variety, characterized by the absence of erucic acid and low glucosinolate content. It was created by individual selection from a hybrid combination and officially included in the State Register of Varieties for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including Central, Volga-Vyatsky, Central Black Earth, Middle Volga, Ural, Western Siberia, Eastern Siberia, and Far Eastern. The variety's vegetative period ranges from 87 to 110 days depending on the region, and flowering occurs early. Plants are of medium height — from 76 to 114 cm, with the attachment height of the lower branch ranging from 26 to 56 cm.

The EREBUS variety is distinguished by high resistance to lodging and seed shattering, as well as good drought tolerance. It possesses resistance to major diseases such as fusarium, peronosporosis, alternaria, and phoma, and is weakly affected by pests, including cabbage flea beetles and rape flea. These qualities make the variety suitable for mechanized harvesting and ensure crop stability.

The seeds of the EREBUS variety have high oil content — from 41.4 to 47.6%, which meets or exceeds standard indicators. Oiliness reaches 46%, and protein content in the meal is about 26%. Glucosinolate levels in seeds are low — 14-15 µmol/g, which improves product quality. Potential yield of the variety reaches 41 centners per hectare, exceeding standard variety indicators. Due to these characteristics, EREBUS is recommended for seed production in various climatic zones of Russia.
