KWS JARUS is a spring rapeseed hybrid of 00-type, characterized by the absence of erucic acid and low glucosinolate content, making it a high-quality oilseed crop. The hybrid was developed by German breeders of the company KWS SAAT SE and features a medium-late maturity period with a vegetation period of about 105-110 days. The plants have an average height from 92 to 104 cm, with green leaves of medium length and width, as well as medium-edged serration. Pods without a beak of medium length with a short beak and short petiole ensure ease of harvest collection. KWS JARUS has a high yield potential, confirmed by trial results in various regions. Average yield in the North-West region is about 11.9 c/ha, in the Leningrad region it reaches 18.0 c/ha, and in the Middle-Volga region – 21.7 c/ha. In some areas, such as the Republic of Tatarstan, yield can reach 44.6 c/ha, significantly exceeding standards. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 3.1 to 5.1 g, and oil content in seeds is in the range of 45.3-48.8%, ensuring high oiliness and product quality. The hybrid is distinguished by resistance to major diseases, including sclerotinia, as well as drought and lodging, contributing to a stable harvest under various climatic conditions. High protein content in meal and cake makes KWS JARUS attractive for use in feed purposes. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, this rapeseed hybrid is an optimal choice for cultivation in regions with different agro-climatic conditions, ensuring high productivity and raw material quality.
