The «Arion» rapeseed is a cultivar developed by the Ivano-Frankivsk Institute of Agro-Industrial Production of the NAAS of Ukraine. The breeding strategy focused on adaptability to the soil and climatic conditions of the Forest-Steppe and Polissya regions. Technically, this is a winter-type cultivar designed for intensive cultivation systems with an emphasis on reproductive stability.

Technical Specifications and Morphology

• Productivity Potential: Yield performance in variety trials reaches 40–45 dt/ha. The key technical factor is the high density of pods on the central raceme, which reduces harvest losses.
• Oil Content: The oil concentration in the seeds ranges from 45% to 48%. This is achieved through optimized nitrogen metabolism during the grain-filling phase.
• Winter Hardiness and Regeneration: The cultivar exhibits high cold tolerance, which is critical for regions with unstable snow cover. Its regenerative capacity after spring vegetation resumption ensures rapid canopy development.
• Disease Resistance: The genetic architecture includes an enhanced barrier against major rots and alternaria blight, minimizing the need for extensive fungicide intervention during early growth stages.

The primary practical benefit of incorporating «Arion» into crop rotation is its predictability. Unlike some first-generation hybrids, this cultivar allows for seed retention while maintaining consistent morphological characteristics across generations.
