Decorative sunflower "Bright" — this is a tall annual plant reaching up to two meters in height. Its large flower heads, 15 to 40 centimeters in diameter, feature vibrant and mixed coloring reminiscent of a sunset sun disk. The double flowers have a fluffy structure resembling giant chrysanthemums, giving the plant exceptional decorative appeal and making it a striking accent in the garden. Sunflowers of this variety are ideal for decorating flowerbeds, borders, fences, and house walls, and are frequently used in cut flower arrangements to create bright, long-lasting bouquets.
The plant is low-maintenance and easy to grow, even for novice gardeners. For planting, choose sunny spots with fertile, non-acidic soil, protected from strong winds. Seeds are sown from May to July, with plantings spaced a few weeks apart to extend the flowering period, which lasts from mid-August until the first frost. Plant seeds at a depth of 3–4 cm, spacing plants 50–70 cm apart and rows 70–80 cm apart. After the emergence of the first leaves, thin out weak seedlings, leaving the strongest specimens.
Care for sunflowers includes regular and abundant watering without waterlogging at the roots, loosening the soil, and removing weeds. During dry periods, water the soil once a week. To prolong flowering, remove fading flower heads, leaving a few heads to mature, covering them with breathable fabric. Sunflower "Bright" pairs beautifully with other garden plants such as chrysanthemums, daisies, lavender, and delphiniums, and will be an eye-catching addition to both flowerbeds and bouquets.
