Savinka sunflower is an early-maturing, classic extensive-type hybrid developed by Syngenta (Netherlands). Its vegetation period ranges from 90 to 108 days, enabling early flowering and successful cultivation across various climatic conditions in Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest Steppe, and Steppe regions. The hybrid exhibits high plasticity regarding planting dates and resistance to stress factors such as drought, heat, and low temperatures, making it a reliable choice for regions with variable climates and dry conditions. Plant height reaches approximately 157 cm, and the flower head diameter is 23 cm, fully filled with seeds, which contributes to high yield potential up to 40 centners per hectare. Savinka shows high resistance to most common sunflower diseases, including downy mildew (races A–E), fusarium, peronosporosis, and false powdery mildew. Additionally, the hybrid demonstrates moderate resistance to phomopsis and white rot, and is not susceptible to bird damage. Rapid early growth and high energy start (9) support good plant development in the early vegetative stages. The 1000-seed mass is about 63 grams, and oil content in the seeds ranges from 46% to 49%, making this hybrid attractive for oilseed production. The Savinka hybrid is well-adapted to various soil types and agronomic conditions, including minimal and zero tillage. It is especially responsive to fertile soils and balanced mineral nutrition, as well as optimal irrigation and early planting dates. The recommended plant density is 45,000–50,000 plants per hectare. Excessive nitrogen fertilization and overly high plant density should be avoided to reduce lodging risk. It is not recommended to grow this hybrid after leguminous crops or rapeseed, which should be considered when planning crop rotation.
