Trial characteristics: Variety — Small-seeded Chernenka. Plant height 140-165 cm. Heads large, convex shape, diameter up to 18-20 cm. Huskiness 22.7%, shelliness 99.5%. 1000 seed mass 56 g.
Biological features: Hybrid belongs to the early-maturing group, vegetation period duration 105-108 days. Hybrid shows active response to fertilizers, resistant to lodging, well-suited for mechanized harvesting. A distinctive feature of the hybrid is its increased competitiveness against weeds due to intensive early growth. The parental form of the hybrid has genetically determined resistance to wolf and false powdery mildew, ensuring resistance of the hybrid to these diseases. According to data from the Immunity Department of the Institute of Crop Production named after V. Ya. Yuryev and the Institute of Crop Research in Kyiv, the hybrid is weakly affected by Fomopsis, making it suitable for use on infected backgrounds as a standard resistant to this disease. Hybrid intended for oilseed use.
Yield and quality: In competitive trials conducted by the institute in 1995-1997, seed yield of the hybrid was 26.5-29.7 centners per hectare. The hybrid has the potential to ensure stable yield in production regardless of weather conditions. During testing, the hybrid exceeded the standard Odessa 123 by 2.0-2.6 centners per hectare, while maturing 5-8 days earlier. Maximum yield — 42 centners per hectare — was recorded at the LLC "1st May" in the First May district of Kharkiv region. Oil content in seeds 50.2-51.6%. The maternal form of the hybrid demonstrates high productivity due to high percentage of marketable seeds, which amounts to 60-65%. Parental lines are sown simultaneously on hybridization plots.
