It is intended for cultivation in both steppe and forest-steppe zones and is suitable for oil and confectionery purposes. Plants reach a height of 160-175 cm, have a slightly convex flower head with a diameter of 22-26 cm, and the weight of 1000 seeds ranges from 65 to 75 g. Seed purity is approximately 23%, and oil content varies from 48 to 52%, ensuring high oil content and product quality.
Variety Mir is characterized by high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including false powdery mildew, various types of rot, downy mildew, and Phomopsis, as well as resistance to sunflower moth. It demonstrates high drought tolerance, resistance to lodging and shattering, allowing it to maintain yield even under adverse weather conditions. Thanks to its strong and well-branched root system, the variety adapts well to extreme cultivation conditions and short crop rotations, and can be successfully grown without herbicides.
The yield of variety Mir is high and stable: maximum potential reaches 5.2 t/ha (42 c/ha), average yield is approximately 3.6 t/ha (30-36 c/ha). The variety responds well to mineral fertilizer application, which allows increasing yield by 0.5-0.7 t/ha. Additionally, sunflower Mir is a good honey producer, expanding its agroecological advantages. The recommended plant density at harvest is 50-60 thousand plants per hectare, depending on the cultivation zone.
