Sunflower Meteor CL is an early-maturing hybrid with high yield potential, developed by the Turkish seed brand MAY Seed. It features a vegetative period of 92-95 days and plant height of 160-165 cm. The hybrid has a convex, downward-leaning capitulum and a recommended sowing rate of 55-60 thousand seeds per hectare. Seed oil content ranges from 44% to 52%, making it attractive for the oil processing industry.
The main advantage of Meteor CL is its resistance to eight races of flea beetle (A-N), achieved through the Clearfield system and SmartOR technology. The hybrid exhibits high tolerance to imidazolinone herbicides used in this system, as well as resistance to major sunflower diseases, including downy mildew, false powdery mildew, rust, and Phomopsis. This enables successful cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe regions, as well as under stressful climatic conditions with heat and temperature fluctuations.
Meteor CL is characterized by stability and adaptability under various growing conditions, providing reliable genetic protection and contributing to high yields.
