Liman sunflower is a high-quality hybrid developed by the Lugansk Institute of Selection and Technologies, belonging to the medium-early and medium-maturing types with a vegetation period of 113-118 days. It is characterized by high initial growth energy, which ensures good competition with weeds and promotes successful plant development from the very beginning of the vegetation period. The hybrid is suitable for no-till technology, which simplifies agricultural operations and helps preserve soil structure.
Liman exhibits high resistance to various sunflower diseases, including rust, verticillium, and downy mildew up to 7 races (A-G), significantly reducing the need for chemical protection and making it an ecologically safer choice for farmers. The hybrid responds well to mineral fertilizer application and moisture, allowing it to fully realize its yield potential, reaching 45-50 ц/ha. Plants grow to a height of 180-200 cm, with a flower head diameter of 20-22 cm, and oil content in seeds at 50-52%.
The Liman hybrid is recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe and steppe zones of Ukraine, where it demonstrates high adaptability to climatic conditions, including drought and high temperatures. The 1000-seed mass ranges from 55 to 65 grams, indicating good seed quality. The recommended planting density is 55-60 thousand plants per hectare, ensuring optimal land use and enabling stable, high yields.
