Field Performance of "Winlife" Herbicide

When managing cereal crops, the ability to control broadleaf weeds without damaging the main crop is crucial. Winlife, produced by Agro Life Science Corporation, is a systemic post-emergence herbicide that has become a staple for our winter and spring wheat, as well as winter barley. Using tribenuron-methyl as the active ingredient, it acts quickly to shut down weed development upon contact.

Application and Handling

As someone handling the equipment, I appreciate the formulation as a water-suspension concentrate. It mixes easily, which prevents nozzle clogging and saves downtime during spraying. The application rate of up to 25 grams per hectare is efficient and easy to manage in terms of storage and logistics. Since it’s a selective, insurance herbicide, it target-kills the weeds while the crop continues its growth cycle undisturbed.

Effective Weed Control Spectrum

We’ve found this herbicide particularly effective against aggressive weeds that typically compete with cereals for nutrients and moisture:

• Field thistle and creeping thistle;
• Common ragweed;
• Lamb's-quarters;
• Shepherd's purse;
• Scentless chamomile;
• Dead-nettle and pale smartweed.

Because it is a systemic herbicide, it absorbs rapidly into the leaf, meaning you see the results quite quickly as the weed stops growing. With only one application required per season and a moderate hazard profile (Class 3), Winlife remains a predictable and reliable solution for field maintenance during the critical post-emergence phase.
