"Happy Star" is a concentrated systemic herbicide manufactured by "Nanjing Essence Fine-Chemical Co., Ltd." (China). The core of this product is tribenuron-methyl, formulated as a water-soluble concentrate. The technical efficacy is based on the inhibition of the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme, which forces immediate cessation of cellular division at the weed's growth points.

Systemic dynamics and selectivity

This product is categorized as a selective herbicide, which is essential for safely protecting winter barley, as well as winter and spring wheat. The selectivity is achieved through the metabolic ability of these grain crops to rapidly deactivate tribenuron-methyl, preventing any damage to the crop while targeting the weed flora.

• Systemic Absorption: Once applied to the leaf surface, the active ingredient translocates through the xylem and phloem, reaching deep into the root systems of the target weeds.
• Target Spectrum: "Happy Star" provides effective control against a wide range of broadleaf weeds, including Cirsium arvense, Chenopodium album, Sinapis arvensis, Thlaspi arvense, Capsella bursa-pastoris, Stellaria media, and Galium aparine.
• Application Protocols: With an application rate of 0.015–0.025 kg/ha, the product is highly efficient for large-scale agricultural operations. The label restricts application to a maximum of one treatment per growing season.
