The efficiency of herbicide protection in winter wheat depends on the ability to block weed metabolism at multiple levels. Torbo by Rangoli utilizes a combination of three active ingredients: florasulam, thifensulfuron-methyl, and tribenuron-methyl. This chemical synergy makes it a powerful systemic tool capable of managing even overgrown dicotyledonous weeds.

Technical composition breakdown

• Florasulam: An acetolactate synthase inhibitor ensuring rapid leaf penetration. Within the Torbo formulation, it stops amino acid synthesis, effectively halting weed growth within hours of application.
• Thifensulfuron-methyl & Tribenuron-methyl: Sulfonylurea components that complement florasulam, broadening the spectrum of action against high-resistance weeds like common lambsquarters, cleavers, and thistle species.

The water-dispersible granule formulation offers a significant agronomic advantage. It provides instant solubility in tank mixtures and emulsion stability. Dust-free handling and accurate dosing significantly reduce the risk of mixing errors.

Practical application and performance

Torbo functions as a selective post-emergence herbicide. Applied as a foliar treatment, it targets the aerial parts of actively growing weeds. Due to its systemic nature, the active ingredients are translocated throughout the plant, including the root system, which is critical for eliminating perennial dicots.

A consumption rate of 0.5–1.0 L/ha provides the necessary concentration for complete weed elimination with a single treatment. Classified under the 3rd hazard class, the product is manageable under strict safety protocols. The key to maximum performance is selecting the optimal application window, ensuring systemic uptake into the weed tissue.
