Controlling competing vegetation is essential for ensuring maize yields, especially during the critical early development phases. «Штурман SС» (a suspension concentrate) is a systemic, selective herbicide designed specifically for post-emergence weed control. Utilizing nicosulfuron as its active ingredient, this product effectively translocates through weed foliage to inhibit growth and eliminate target species.

Field Application Scenarios

In modern farming, «Штурман SС» is used as an insurance herbicide to tackle existing infestations. Because it is highly selective, maize remains unaffected while weeds such as couch grass (Agropyron repens), barnyard grass (Echinochloa crus-galli), and various broad-leaved weeds are systematically eradicated.

• Managing tough weeds: Highly effective against common, hard-to-control species including ragweed, amaranth, wild radish, and shepherd's purse.
• Systemic action: The active ingredient travels through the plant, ensuring complete control even if coverage is not 100% perfect, and works quickly to stop nutrient theft by weeds.
• Post-emergence flexibility: Applied when weeds have emerged, allowing agronomists to assess the specific infestation density before treatment.

Operational Guidelines

The recommended application rate is 1–1.25 L/ha, with a maximum of one application per season. Being a systemic herbicide, it works best when applied under favorable growing conditions. Classified as a hazard class 3 product, it requires standard protective measures. Manufactured by Shanghai Mio Chemical Co., Ltd. and Klov (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., this product is registered by Ukrainian partners «Maxima-Rost» and «Talino» to support effective maize protection programs.
