The core active ingredient in the "Laura" herbicide is clopyralid, a synthetic auxin. This is essential for controlling perennial taproot weeds such as sow thistle and Canada thistle, as the chemical halts cell division in the meristem, leading to structural deformation and the ultimate collapse of the entire plant.
