«Flagman Extra» is a contact, post-emergence selective herbicide manufactured by the «Agrochemical Factory» (Cherkasy, Ukraine). It is specifically engineered to manage broadleaf weed infestations in soybean fields by combining two potent active ingredients: bentazone and acifluorfen. This dual-action approach ensures a broader spectrum of control, targeting even those species that often develop resistance to single-active-ingredient herbicides.

Technical Breakdown of the Formulation

• Bentazone (benzothiadiazinones): Works as a photosynthesis inhibitor at the photosystem II level. Being a contact herbicide, it causes rapid necrosis of weed foliage upon direct contact.
• Acifluorfen: Functions as a Protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) inhibitor. It triggers lipid peroxidation in weed cell membranes, leading to rapid cell wall destruction when exposed to solar radiation.

The water-soluble concentrate formulation ensures quick absorption into weed tissues. As a post-emergence herbicide, it is applied at a rate of 1.0–2.0 L/ha to control common weeds such as white goosefoot, redroot pigweed, field mustard, wild radish, shepherd's purse, chickweed, black nightshade, and common purslane.

Classified as a Hazard Class 3 substance, the product must be used in accordance with strictly defined agronomic guidelines. The manufacturer specifies a limit of one treatment per growing season, with a pre-harvest interval of at least 40 days. The selective nature of the herbicide allows the soybean plant to neutralize the active components via its own enzymatic systems, while susceptible broadleaf weeds lack such protection.
