Description Butizan Star
BUTIZAN STAR, CS — this is a systemic herbicide designed to combat annual grassy and broad-leaved weeds, including creeping cinquefoil, in spring and winter rape crops.

Herbicide characteristics:
Base unit
5 L.

Active ingredients — metazachlor (333 g/L) + quinmerac (83 g/L)
Formulation — concentrate suspension (CS)
Distribution in plant — systemic, with pronounced soil activity, blocks seed germination. Also absorbed by hypocotyls and root systems of grassy and broad-leaved weeds, destroying them.
Working solution rate — 200-300 L/ha
Application frequency — single application
Pre-harvest interval — not established
Packaging — plastic containers of 5 L capacity

A new two-component herbicide for effective protection of rape crops against most annual grassy and broad-leaved weeds.

BUTIZAN STAR — advantages of the product:
• Safety for rape plants
• Flexibility in choosing doses and application timing
• High efficiency in controlling weeds on rape crops
• Guarantee of high seed yield
• Positive effect on winter survival of rape.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION PREPARATION OF WORKING SOLUTION:
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS:
Metazachlor, 333 g/L
Quinmerac, 83 g/L

FORMULATION:
concentrate suspension (CS)

MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Metazachlor belongs to the chloracetanilide class. Its herbicidal effect on sensitive weed species is manifested in disruption of root physiology. Penetrating through hypocotyls and roots, it blocks germination processes. In grassy weeds, the active ingredient primarily penetrates through the coleoptile, causing the shoot to curl and subsequently die. In broad-leaved weeds, the active ingredient penetrates through cotyledons, also causing their death. First signs appear as inhibition of transpiration and root growth, leading to shoot death before emergence. Medium-sensitive weeds emerge on the soil surface but have very weak (non-viable) seedlings that die within 3-7 days. When applied post-emergence, weed growth stops first, followed by discoloration and death.
The active ingredient quinmerac belongs to synthetic auxins, absorbed by both roots and leaf surfaces of weed plants. Pre-emergence application of quinmerac stops weed growth and development; post-emergence application causes tissue bleaching followed by complete plant death.

HERBICIDE BUTIZAN STAR HAS BOTH SOIL-BASED (70%) AND LEAF-BASED (30%) ACTION ON WEEDS.

APPLICATION RECOMMENDATIONS

FLEXIBLE APPLICATION TIMING — APPLICATION IS POSSIBLE BEFORE OR AFTER CROP EMERGENCE. APPLICATION TIMES DEPEND ONLY ON WEED DEVELOPMENT STAGE. MAXIMUM EFFICACY IS ACHIEVED WITH PRE-EMERGENCE APPLICATION OR WHEN WEEDS ARE IN THE COTYLEDON STAGE. EFFICACY DECREASES WITH LATER APPLICATIONS (OVERGROWN WEEDS).

Winter rape
2.0-3.0 L/ha — apply immediately after rape seed sowing on well-prepared soil (without clods); sow rape seeds at the same depth and cover with a 1-2 cm soil layer. Apply the herbicide before weed emergence, not later than the cotyledon stage of weeds.
CAUTION! SEED DEPTH MUST NOT EXCEED 1.5-2 CM

Spring rape
2-2.5 L/ha — apply the herbicide before weed emergence, not later than the cotyledon stage of weeds.

CAUTION! LOWER HERBICIDE DOSAGES OF BUTIZAN STAR ARE FOR LIGHTER SOILS. HIGHER DOSAGES ARE FOR HEAVY SOILS WITH HIGH ORGANIC MATTER CONTENT OR HEAVILY INFESTED SOILS. WORKING SOLUTION RATE 100-300 L/HA.

WORKING SOLUTION PREPARATION:

Fill half the sprayer tank with clean water, turn on the mixer, add the calculated and measured amount of herbicide, and continue filling the tank while mixing.

PROTECTIVE DURATION: 4-6 WEEKS. DEPENDS ON SOIL TYPE AND WEED SPECIES. ON LIGHT SOILS, PROTECTIVE DURATION IS LONGER THAN ON HEAVY SOILS, INCLUDING CHERNZEM.
WHEN APPLIED PRE-EMERGENCE, BUTIZAN STAR COMPONENTS ARE PRINCIPALLY ABSORBED THROUGH THE ROOT SYSTEM; WHEN APPLIED POST-EMERGENCE — THROUGH COTYLEDONS.

IMPORTANT CONDITION FOR HERBICIDE EFFICACY — APPLICATION BEFORE EMERGENCE — IN EARLY WEED DEVELOPMENT STAGES (COTYLEDON STAGE).

EXCEPTIONAL SELECTIVITY

Thanks to its proven high selectivity, BUTIZAN STAR can be applied regardless of crop development stage. Focus only on weed development stage.
