Its formulation includes bentazone (a benzothiadiazinone derivative) and MCPA (a phenoxypropionic acid derivative). This combination fundamentally changes the strategy for controlling annual dicotyledonous weeds, such as common lambsquarters.

Technical Breakdown of the Mechanism

• Bentazone (contact component): Acts as a photosynthesis inhibitor. It blocks electron transport within weed cells, causing rapid death of the vegetative mass upon contact with the leaf surface.
• MCPA (systemic component): Acts as an auxin-type herbicide. It is absorbed by leaves and translocated throughout the entire plant, disrupting cell growth and division, which leads to deformation and eventual weed mortality.

The selectivity of the product allows for its use on a wide spectrum of crops — from cereal grains (wheat, barley, oats) to legumes and flax. Crucially, "Buster" operates as a post-emergence herbicide, delivering a precision strike against already active weeds.

Practical Application Insights

The product is provided in an aqueous solution form, ensuring quick preparation of the working mixture without the risk of clogging sprayer nozzles. With an application rate of 2.0–3.0 L/ha, it provides the necessary concentration of active ingredients to effectively suppress resistant weed forms.

Considering its 3rd hazard class and a short pre-harvest interval (1 to 7 days depending on the crop), "Buster" serves as a flexible tool in intensive agricultural chains. The product requires specific temperature conditions (optimally +15...+25°C), as low temperatures slow down the systemic action of MCPA, while the efficacy of contact bentazone decreases due to reduced weed metabolism.
