Ordan — fungicide for combating pathogens of late blight and downy mildew, resistant to other fungicides on potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, as well as downy mildew on grapes. It has contact and locally systemic activity. Exhibits triple action: preventive, curative, and eradicating. Used in antiresistant programs to combat pathogens resistant to fungicides from the phenylamide group (based on metalaxyl, oxadixyl).
Active ingredient:
Copper oxychloride 689 g/kg + Cymoxanil 42 g/kg
Formulation:
Wetting powder
Mechanism of action of the product
Copper oxychloride belongs to the group of chelated copper compounds and has prolonged contact activity; Cymoxanil belongs to the group of alkylurea derivatives and exhibits locally systemic activity.
Due to the presence of two active components with different modes of pathogen suppression, Ordan exhibits preventive, curative, and eradicating effects. Copper oxychloride inhibits enzymes and vital components of phytopathogenic fungi cells. Cymoxanil penetrates leaves within one hour and inhibits RNA biosynthesis in pathogen cells.
Method and timing of application:
Ordan is most effective when applied for prevention or at early stages of disease, before symptoms appear on plants. The first treatment of potato crops is applied preventively (before plant canopy closure) or no later than two days after infection, subsequent treatments — with intervals of 10-12 days. Cucumbers are sprayed the first time preventively or no later than two days after infection, second and third applications — with intervals of 7 days. Maximum number of applications — 3.
Working solution dosage:
On potatoes — 400 l/ha, on open-ground cucumbers — 600-800, in protected cultivation — 1000-3000 l/ha.
Product features:
Ordan belongs to the most effective fungicides against pathogens that have developed resistance to phenylamide-based fungicides (ridomil, oxichom, etc.). It helps maintain pathogen sensitivity to phenylamides, does not induce cross-resistance to other fungicides, and is therefore successfully used in antiresistant programs. Ordan provides longer intervals between sprays compared to commonly used contact fungicides.
