The 'Fenomen' fungicide by Zhenjiang Agrin Company Ltd. relies on the systemic action of tebuconazole. Its primary advantage is rapid absorption and translocation within the plant's vascular system. By moving acropetally (upward) from the point of contact to the growing points, the active ingredient ensures that even new leaf growth remains protected against pathogen ingress, providing a comprehensive barrier that localized contact fungicides cannot replicate.

• Inhibitory Action: Tebuconazole acts as a demethylation inhibitor, disrupting the biosynthesis of ergosterol—an essential lipid for fungal cell membrane integrity. By halting the creation of these membranes, the chemical effectively collapses the mycelium and prevents spore germination.
• Formulation Quality: Available as a water emulsion or suspension concentrate, the product is engineered for high-density coverage. This ensures that when applied to the leaf surface, it adheres effectively, creating a stable, rain-fast film that maintains biological activity for an extended period under field conditions.

Application and Field Management

For optimal results, 'Fenomen' should be applied at a rate of 0.5 to 1.0 L/ha. It is registered for use on winter oilseed rape, as well as winter and spring wheat and winter barley.
