Contact fungicide for the control of plant diseases during the vegetative period
Active ingredient: copper hydroxide, 300 g/l
Manufacturer: Peters & Burg Ltd, Hungary
Formulation: oil suspension
Packaging unit: 5-liter canister
Mode of action
When applied to plant surfaces, the product forms a protective layer that prevents pathogen development. Copper ions are absorbed by the fungal mycelium and cause denaturation of protein complexes, including enzymes. This disrupts metabolic processes in the pathogen cell, leading to pathogen death.
Application recommendations
Application timing
The product is applied preventively when weather conditions are favorable for disease development and spread, or immediately before initial plant infection (prior to spore germination on plant surfaces).
Maximum efficacy is observed when used in combination with systemic fungicides.
Working solution dosage
When applied using ground sprayers, the dosage is 800-1000 L/ha. The working solution dosage should ensure complete and even wetting of plant surfaces during application and prevent runoff from plant surfaces.
Pre-harvest interval from the last application to harvest is at least 30 days.
Entry of workers for mechanized work is permitted 3 days after application; for manual work — 7 days.
Application conditions depending on crop
Vineyards. For controlling mildew in vineyards, the first application must be made before initial plant infection. Typically, the first application is conducted 10 days after nighttime temperatures reach +10°C and at least 10 mm of rainfall has occurred. This often coincides with the period when shoots reach 25 cm in length. The second application is performed immediately after flowering. In years with intensive disease development, additional applications are recommended at 8-10-day intervals as new leaves (3-4) emerge.
Peach. To protect peaches from leaf curl, applications should be made during the pink bud stage. In years with intensive disease development, or if no spring application was conducted during the pink bud stage, a fall application should be performed during leaf drop.
Weather conditions
Optimal air temperature for application: +12...+20°C.
Heavy rainfall may wash part of the product off plant surfaces, reducing its protective effect. Therefore, a repeat application with the minimum recommended dosage is recommended to restore the protective barrier.
Preparation of working solution
To prepare the working solution, fill the sprayer tank with water to 1/3 of its volume, activate the mixing mode, and add the required amount of the product. Fill the sprayer tank to full capacity while the mixing mode remains active. During application, the mixing mode must remain active to maintain the homogeneity of the working solution.
Compatibility with other products
The product is compatible with most pesticides used for garden and vineyard protection, except those based on aluminum fosetyl, thiram, sulfur, or those producing acidic working solutions.
Precautions
Do not apply the product during flowering of crops, or after peach flowering, as this may cause leaf drop.
Some grape varieties are highly sensitive to copper-based fungicides. Therefore, it is advisable to have preliminary data regarding the sensitivity of a specific grape variety to copper-containing fungicides.
Do not apply the product at air temperatures above +25°C.
If application is missed and plant infection has already occurred (visible symptoms appear within 2-3 days), systemic fungicides should be applied immediately.
Avoid contact of the product with metal surfaces.
