Agrotechnics and Yield Potential

The 'Belli' dill variety, registered in 2025, is a complex hybrid developed by Ihor Vasylovych Khrapatyi. It is specifically adapted for cultivation across all agro-climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia regions. The hybrid is characterized by a deep green color and a strong waxy coating, which provides natural protection against heat stress and excessive moisture loss.

Development and Maintenance

During the early growth stages (3–5 leaves), the plant forms a semi-erect rosette, which simplifies mechanical inter-row cultivation. Due to its high leaf density and a large number of primary branches, 'Belli' offers excellent productivity when managed correctly:

• Soil Requirements: Thrives in fertile, well-drained loamy soils with a neutral pH. Avoid heavy, compacted soils that may restrict root development.
• Irrigation: While the strong waxy coating provides some drought tolerance, consistent moisture is essential for high-quality greens. Regular irrigation is critical during the active leaf-growth phase.
• Planting Pattern: A row spacing of 15–20 cm is recommended. The hybrid's vigorous growth allows it to quickly canopy over the rows, effectively suppressing weed competition.

The variety exhibits a medium time to the emergence of the main umbel and a medium flowering onset. This provides growers with a flexible harvest window. When producing for fresh market greens, ensure proper plant spacing to maintain airflow, as the dense foliage requires good ventilation to prevent fungal issues.
