About product
An early-maturing, high-yielding variety perfect for pickling and fresh salads.
Description
Cultivation and Agronomy
«Cornichon de Paris» is an early-maturing variety (40–45 days) that requires precise management to maximize yield. Despite its parthenocarpic nature, the variety performs best under controlled conditions in protected ground when specific agronomic practices are followed.
Planting and Soil Preparation
Sowing should begin when the soil temperature at a depth of 10 cm reaches +15°C. The recommended planting density is 50–60 cm between rows and 20–25 cm between plants. The soil must be loose, rich in organic matter, and have a neutral pH (6.5–7.0). In greenhouse conditions, proper ventilation is essential to prevent excessive humidity, which can lead to fungal issues.
Care Throughout Growth Stages
- Germination: Maintain temperatures between +22°C and +25°C. Ensure the topsoil does not dry out during this critical phase.
- Active Growth: Regular irrigation with warm water is required. As an indeterminate variety, trellising is mandatory to ensure proper light penetration and plant health.
- Flowering and Fruiting: The variety produces mostly female flowers (2–3 per node), requiring balanced potassium and magnesium fertilization. Frequent harvesting (every 1–2 days) is necessary to stimulate new fruit set and prevent the cucumbers from becoming oversized.
With its dense flesh and lack of internal voids, this variety is highly prized for both fresh consumption and pickling.
