Cucumber Presto RZ F1

Consistent Yields Under Any Conditions

Presto RZ F1 from Rijk Zwaan is a go-to choice for growers prioritizing intensive production cycles and reliability. This parthenocarpic hybrid is engineered for markets where early availability is key: harvesting begins as early as 45–50 days after emergence. Its generative plant habit reduces labor costs associated with pruning and training, allowing management to focus purely on the harvest.

Practical Scenarios for Your Farm

• Protected Cultivation: Ideally suited for plastic greenhouses in both spring-summer and summer-autumn slots. Its high adaptability to temperature fluctuations ensures a steady output even when climate control is challenging.
• Open Field: Thanks to a vigorous root system and strong disease tolerance, this hybrid performs exceptionally well on vertical supports, consistently delivering high-quality cucumbers even in outdoor conditions.

Fruit quality is a standout feature. With a length of 9–10 cm and a 3:1 ratio, these cucumbers are highly versatile, perfect for both fresh market sales and processing/pickling. The dark green skin with pronounced warts ensures an attractive appearance at the retail level, maintaining freshness even after transport.

A Natural Shield Against Disease

The primary concern for cucumber growers—disease pressure—is addressed at the genetic level. This hybrid offers comprehensive resistance to Cucumber Mosaic Virus (CMV), powdery mildew, cladosporiosis, and root rots. This level of genetic protection allows for a reduced reliance on chemical treatments, lowering fungicide costs and supporting the production of cleaner, high-quality produce.
