Cucumber 18/741

Versatility and Adaptability

The 18/741 hybrid offers a level of adaptability rarely seen in cucumber varieties. Unlike specialized cultivars designed exclusively for greenhouse or outdoor conditions, this parthenocarpic hybrid performs consistently well in both environments. Its genetic profile allows it to endure temperature fluctuations in open fields and handle limited light conditions in sheltered structures with ease.

Key Advantages

• Structural Integrity: The fruit is dense and free of voids, making it an excellent choice for both fresh market sales and pickling. The crunch remains consistent even after processing.
• Production Efficiency: The plant’s architecture is well-balanced, simplifying maintenance and harvest. This design helps minimize manual labor costs for commercial growers.
• Parthenocarpy: Being independent of insect pollination ensures steady fruit set, regardless of weather conditions or early-season cycles when pollinator activity is low.

Who Should Choose This Hybrid?

The 18/741 is an ideal solution for farmers focused on a continuous production cycle. If your goal is to maintain a steady output of high-quality produce from early spring through autumn without switching varieties, this hybrid is built for that exact purpose. It is important to note, however, that because of its high yield potential, 18/741 is demanding in terms of soil fertility. To avoid a slowdown in fruit development, a consistent and intensive feeding program is recommended. Given adequate nutrition, it is a high-performing asset for any professional agricultural setup.
