Maize CR 790 MV

Technical Potential of the KR 790 MV Hybrid

Developed by NPO Kubanzerno and the P.P. Lukyanenko National Grain Center, this hybrid represents a niche solution in the maize segment tailored to specific processing requirements. The defining feature of this hybrid is its genetically fixed white grain color, which distinguishes it from standard yellow-grained varieties.

Agronomic Profile and Functional Use

The versatility of the KR 790 MV hybrid is confirmed by its dual-purpose nature: commodity grain production and silage mass yield. Its technical specifications ensure high crop plasticity across major maize-growing regions.

• Grain Biochemistry: The white color is due to the absence of carotenoids, making this hybrid highly sought after in the food industry (for flour, starch, and specialty dietary products).
• Silage Productivity: The hybrid forms a robust vegetative mass with high sugar content, ensuring optimal fermentation during silage storage.
• Genetic Foundation: The breeding focus of Kubanzerno has been on securing yield stability under erratic moisture conditions, a critical factor for farming operations in southern latitudes.

The practical value of this hybrid lies in its ability to diversify production. Farmers gain a versatile tool capable of fulfilling livestock feed requirements while simultaneously serving niche industrial markets that specifically demand raw materials with reduced yellow pigment content.
