Description Swallow
Chinese cabbage Swallow (Pak-choy type) (Brassica chinensis L.) — a fast-maturing leafy variety for cultivation in open and protected soil. The first harvest of greens is possible after 15 days from germination, when 7-10 leaves have formed. The technical maturity stage occurs 45 days after germination. Forms a dense, raised rosette up to 30 cm high and 40 cm in diameter, weighing 1.5–3 kg. Stems are fleshy, juicy, white or green, making up 2/3 of the plant’s mass. Leaves are entire, smooth, green, without hairs, with weak venation, and have excellent taste, suitable for fresh, sautéed, fried, or marinated consumption. Vitamin C content in stems is 24.9 mg%, and in leaves is 119.6 mg%. The variety is resistant to premature bolting, mucous and vascular bacterial diseases, and relatively resistant to kale.
