Practical Application of Prunella «Rezus»

The perennial «Rezus» variety, developed by the Gavrish Breeding Firm and the Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding and Seed Production, is a highly functional crop for farms focused on medicinal herb production and apiculture.

Key Operational Scenarios

• Honey Flow Enhancement: Acting as a reliable mid-summer nectar source, «Rezus» ensures a consistent food supply for pollinators after the primary honey plants have finished flowering. This is crucial for maintaining hive health throughout the season.
• Erosion Control and Weed Management: As a hardy herbaceous perennial, it establishes a dense ground cover that effectively suppresses weed growth. In agricultural practice, it is often utilized to stabilize soil on slopes and buffer zones, reducing the need for intensive soil maintenance.
• Medicinal Raw Material Production: The variety is prized for its consistent concentration of bioactive compounds. Harvested during the flowering stage, the aerial parts of the plant are used in pharmaceutical applications, providing a stable output for small-to-medium scale medicinal herb operations.

«Rezus» is distinguished by its winter hardiness and longevity, eliminating the need for annual reseeding. It is a strategic choice for farmers implementing regenerative practices who require a robust, low-maintenance crop that integrates seamlessly into an ecologically balanced field management system.
