Registered in 2022, the 'Hekata' belladonna variety is a specialized crop developed by the Research Station of Medicinal Plants of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. The primary value of this variety lies in its high productivity and stable accumulation of alkaloids, making it a strategically important raw material for the pharmaceutical industry.

Harvesting and Processing Features

'Hekata' demonstrates early budding and flowering stages, which allows for the optimization of the medicinal raw material collection schedule. The plant is characterized by a tall habit and developed vegetative mass. For pharmaceutical purposes, the following characteristics are critical:

• Leaf Mass: Ovate-elliptic leaves with a brownish-green color contain an optimal concentration of active substances.
• Fruits: Large, spherical, black-violet berries ripen early, facilitating the planning of processing production cycles.
• Technological Suitability: The upright habit of the bush and moderate density of generative stems contribute to the convenience of mechanized or manual harvesting.

The collected raw materials (leaves and fruits) require strict adherence to drying protocols to preserve pharmacological activity.
